J. Lee Dunford is an associate attorney in the Shreveport office of Simon, Fitzgerald, Cooke, Reed & Welch. A lifelong resident of the Shreveport-Bossier area, Lee is proud to serve the community he calls home. His legal practice is focused on consumer bankruptcy, helping clients navigate complex financial challenges and find meaningful paths toward a fresh start.
What to Expect When Working With Me:
- Free Call – We’ll talk about your situation and go over your options.
- Make a Plan – I’ll help you build a step-by-step plan that fits your goals.
- File and Protect – I’ll file your case and stop the calls and collection actions.
- Ongoing Help – After your case, I’m still here to help you move forward.
Lee’s passion for the law began early, inspired by his father’s ability to use legal knowledge in practical, impactful ways. That influence shaped Lee’s desire to become a trusted advocate—someone clients can rely on when facing overwhelming financial stress. He believes the foundation of every successful case is listening first, then building a plan tailored to the client’s unique goals and situation.
Before joining the firm, Lee earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, graduating magna cum laude. He went on to complete his legal education at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, where he deepened his focus on client-first advocacy and consumer law.
Outside of his legal work, Lee remains active in the local community. A graduate assistant for ULM Bands, he is a lifelong musician who still enjoys playing the French horn. He is also an Eagle Scout and volunteers with the Boy Scouts of America, teaching Climbing and Law merit badges to local youth. He and his wife Jade, married since 2022, are currently expecting their first child.
Lee’s goal is to ensure clients never feel alone in the bankruptcy process. He combines clear communication, personal accessibility, and a team-driven approach to provide thorough, compassionate legal support.
