Meet L. Laban Levy, the passionate bankruptcy attorney who is committed to helping families find personal financial solutions to help them save their homes, vehicles, and personal items that are important to them. As a dedicated lawyer, he is good at the mathematical and technical work required by a bankruptcy attorney and specializes in this practice because of his passion for personal finance and how it can benefit real families.
Levy’s passion for helping bankruptcy clients stems from his childhood experiences. Growing up in a single-mother household, his mother needed bankruptcy help to make ends meet and keep their family afloat. This pivotal moment drove Levy to become a bankruptcy attorney, so he could help people in similar situations.
When working with clients, Levy provides more personal attention than most lawyers. His team is highly trained and very competent, adding value to his practice. Clients can expect to be well-informed, as he breaks down legal concepts into simple, easy-to-understand terms. The typical process of working with Levy involves answering questions and providing documents while he advises clients on the steps needed to accomplish their goals.
Levy is a business casual person who enjoys spending time with his family. He has two kids who are about to graduate from high school and go off to college, and he plans on spending weekends watching his son play college baseball and his daughter cheer. He used to coach youth travel baseball teams for almost 10 years until his son reached high school. Levy enjoys traveling and finding good shows to binge-watch with his family.
Levy is a member/partner with the law firm of Simon, Fitzgerald, Cooke, Reed & Welch. He graduated from Louisiana State University Law Center with a Juris Doctorate & Bachelors of Civil Law in 2002 and from Northwestern State University with a B.S. in Business Administration in 1998. He was admitted to practice in Louisiana in 2003 and served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Chief Judge Henry N. Brown, Jr. for the Louisiana Second Circuit Court of Appeals from 2003 through 2004.
