My name is David K. Welch, and I am a member/partner at Simon, Fitzgerald, Cooke, Reed & Welch law firm, primarily in the Shreveport office. I have been a Louisiana State Bar Association member since 2012 and am licensed to practice in Louisiana and the Federal Court for the Western District of Louisiana. I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Bio-Chemistry from Louisiana State University in 2003, followed by a Master’s degree in Physiology from the LSUHSC School of Graduate Studies. In 2012, I received my Juris Doctor and Diploma in Civil Law degree from Loyola College of Law in New Orleans.
As a bankruptcy attorney, I can assist you in getting a fresh start by filing for Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 bankruptcy. I am passionate about helping my clients eliminate their crippling debt and keep the most important things to themselves. What drew me to the legal profession was my strong sense of fairness and justice and my desire to help others. My father has significantly influenced me to become the lawyer I am today. I am dedicated to defending my clients from overreaching trustees and creditors and standing up for their rights in court.
Our law firm strives to create a welcoming environment and treat our clients with respect and understanding. Therefore, if you call our office regarding your legal issue, one of our helpful staff will assist you, and they will schedule a free consultation with me or one of the other attorneys in our firm.
Regarding working with me, we will meet at your initial consultation and signing appointment should you file. My knowledgeable staff will help gather the necessary documents and answer any questions about the process. Should any issues arise after filing, I am always available to meet with you to discuss those issues and map out a path forward.
Outside the office, I enjoy training in martial arts and watching action and comedy movies and TV shows. I am a massive fan of The Mandalorian and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I also enjoy reading comic books, gaming, and traveling with my wife and son.
I am a National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA) member. While I have not received any professional awards or recognition, I received an award from Loyola New Orleans College of Law for the highest grade in Security Rights and a prize for the highest grade in Law and Poverty.
When grabbing a meal in my community, I enjoy eating at Counter Culture and Jason’s Deli, within walking distance of my office. I also recommend Ki Mexico and Torchy’s. My favorite sports teams are the New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers.
If you are struggling with debt and seeking a fresh start, I can assist you in navigating the bankruptcy process. Don’t hesitate to contact me at (318) 868-2600 or [email protected] to schedule a free consultation.
