Meet Sara Stacy, a Legal Assistant at Simon Fitzgerald LLC in the Lafayette / Lake Charles office. Sara helps clients and attorneys stay organized throughout the bankruptcy process by answering client questions, processing payments, filing documents, preparing cases, scheduling appointments, and gathering the paperwork needed to keep cases moving forward.
Sara primarily works with Karl Helo and Ryan Robison. On a typical day, she answers emails and phone calls, communicates with clients, gathers documents, schedules appointments, helps prepare cases, and makes notes so the attorneys and staff can stay informed about what is happening in each matter.
Sara enjoys being part of the process that helps clients move through financial hardship and work toward a fresh start. She understands that bankruptcy can feel overwhelming, especially for people who are embarrassed, nervous, or unsure about what to expect. Her goal is to listen without judgment, answer procedural questions, and help clients feel calmer about the process.
One thing clients may not see is how much teamwork happens behind the scenes. Sara helps coordinate information, organize documents, and support communication between clients, attorneys, and staff. This teamwork helps cases stay organized and move forward as smoothly as possible.
Sara first learned about the opportunity at Simon Fitzgerald LLC from a friend who encouraged her to apply. She decided to take a chance, and she has loved the work ever since. Although she was new to the legal field when she started, she quickly found meaning in supporting people during stressful financial moments.
Sara believes clients should know that filing for bankruptcy is not something to be embarrassed about. Financial hardship can happen to anyone. Her approach is to treat every client with empathy, respect, and understanding, no matter their situation. When clients speak with Sara, they can expect kindness, patience, and clear communication.
To Sara, Simon Fitzgerald LLC stands out because the team provides clear guidance and support throughout the bankruptcy process. The attorneys and staff work together to help clients understand each step, stay organized, and feel respected during a difficult time. She wants prospective clients to know that the firm communicates openly, responds promptly, and works hard to provide knowledgeable guidance and dedicated representation.
Outside of work, Sara enjoys working out and going for walks with friends. She attends St. Pius and helps at her former elementary school when she is able. Sara is originally from Monroe, but she loved Lafayette so much that she decided to move there. She enjoys old country music, reality TV, true crime shows and podcasts, and cheering for LSU. Some of her favorite local places to eat include Silver Slipper, Uncle T’s, Chimes, and Hub City Diner. A fun fact about Sara is that Halloween is one of her favorite holidays, and her favorite time of year in South Louisiana is Mardi Gras.
