David K. Welch

David K. Welch is a member/partner at Simon Fitzgerald LLC, primarily in the Shreveport office. He has been a Louisiana State Bar Association member since 2012 and is licensed to practice in Louisiana and the Federal Court for the Western District of Louisiana. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Bio-Chemistry from Louisiana State University in 2003, followed by a Master’s degree in Physiology from the LSUHSC School of Graduate Studies. In 2012, he received his Juris Doctor and Diploma in Civil Law degree from Loyola College of Law in New Orleans.

As a bankruptcy attorney, David assists clients in getting a fresh start by filing for Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 bankruptcy. He is passionate about helping his clients eliminate their crippling debt and keep the most important things to themselves. He was drawn to the legal profession was his strong sense of fairness and justice and his desire to help others. His father has significantly influenced him to become the lawyer he is today. David is dedicated to defending his clients from overreaching trustees and creditors and standing up for their rights in court.

If a client decides to file, David is there for both the initial consultation and the signing appointment. His knowledgeable staff helps gather the necessary documents and answer any questions about the process. Should any issues arise after filing, David is always available to meet and discuss those issues and map out a path forward.

Outside the office, David enjoys training in martial arts and watching action and comedy movies and TV shows. He is a massive fan of The Mandalorian and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He also enjoys reading comic books, gaming, and traveling with his wife and son.

David is a National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA) member. While he has not received any professional awards or recognition, he received an award from Loyola New Orleans College of Law for the highest grade in Security Rights and a prize for the highest grade in Law and Poverty.

David enjoys dining at Counter Culture and Jason’s Deli, both located within walking distance of his office, and he also recommends Ki Mexico and Torchy’s. His favorite sports teams are the New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers.
