Meet Rebecca Ditmore, a Legal Assistant at Simon Fitzgerald LLC in the Shreveport office. Rebecca helps clients and attorneys stay organized throughout the bankruptcy process by assisting with intake paperwork, trustee documents, client questions, TFS payments, 341 meeting preparation, post-filing tasks, and Jubilee portal updates.
Rebecca works with all of the attorneys at Simon Fitzgerald LLC and primarily assists with Attorney Lee Dunford’s cases. Her typical day includes answering client questions, gathering documents, uploading records to the trustee, IRS, or Louisiana Department of Revenue, scheduling appointments, helping set up trustee payments, and assisting with plan modifications.
Before joining the legal field, Rebecca spent nearly nine years working in healthcare. That experience taught her how to communicate with people from many different backgrounds and how to show care during difficult moments. She enjoyed helping people in healthcare, but she wanted a new career path where she could continue making a difference. That desire led her to Simon Fitzgerald LLC.
Rebecca understands that financial stress can happen to anyone. She believes clients should never feel shame or judgment when they reach out for help. Many people hear the word “bankruptcy” and assume the process has to be scary. Rebecca works to make the experience feel more manageable by explaining next steps, answering questions, and helping clients understand what to expect.
One of the most meaningful parts of Rebecca’s work is helping clients recover important assets during stressful times. In one case, she helped a single parent whose vehicle had been repossessed. Rebecca helped get the client scheduled for a consultation, documents submitted, signing completed, and the vehicle returned in the same week. For Rebecca, helping that client get back to everyday life felt like a big win.
Clients who work with Rebecca can expect follow-through. Whether they have a question, concern, or problem, Rebecca works toward finding the right next step or connecting them with the right person. She is especially strong at handling stressful situations, staying organized, tracking deadlines, and communicating with clients in a way that fits their needs.
Rebecca believes Simon Fitzgerald LLC is different because the team truly cares. No question is too big or too small. The attorneys and staff take time to understand each client’s concerns and work alongside them throughout the process. To Rebecca, clients are never just a number. They are people going through a difficult season who deserve patience, honesty, and support.
Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys concerts, races, farmers markets, being outdoors, and spending time with her family. She is involved with her church and her children’s softball and t-ball teams. She has two children, a dog named Mia, and hopes to have chickens soon. Rebecca enjoys Mardi Gras parades, Louisiana food, true crime, Yellowstone, Landman, Hallmark movies, and cheering for the Dallas Cowboys, LSU, and the Texas Rangers. A fun fact about Rebecca is that she collects rocks and arrowheads from the lake.
